Description
Dragons are a large, lizard-like creatures that vary greatly in their colors. A typical Rikuluian dragon has two fore arms and two legs as well as a pair of wings on their back. Their mouth holds several sharp teeth and more often than not they have either horns of frills along their spines and their jawlines. They have thick scales all along their bodies that provide armor against quite a few weapons, low powered guns included. Dragons are considered highly magical creatures and almost all dragons can breathe fire, though some have developed other magical abilities in addition to their fire breath.

Lifespan
Dragons tend not to breed often, though have a habit of returning to their own nesting grounds when they do. A dragon clutch tends to have around 5 eggs, though only 3 tend to hatch on average. A young dragon tends to stay with their mother until they've grown around 2.5 meters to the shoulder. Their accelerated growth stops when they are around 20 years old.

An adult dragon will continue to grow until death, though at quite a slow rate by human standards. An inch a year hardly seams like much until one considers that the average dragon life spawn is around 300 years. The most common reason for death among dragons is starvation, shortly follow by death by other dragons.

Habitat
Dragons tend to have a very large habitat and hunting ground spanning over several islands, though tend to prefer to stay near the flatter islands where large, grazing herds are more likely to form. Some have learned to compromise and buy their food, though most believe the act is begging.

Behavior
Dragons are highly social creatures among other dragons, though tend not to form nations or flags. Instead their social structure tends to form more on respect for the eldest dragons. They tend not to meddle in wars of other species, considering them too short to really care about if they don't live longer than 40 years.

Dragon society tends to be quite a bit more rough than human society, most disputes ending in fights or at least aggressive stances. Dragons are a chaotic lot, changing their mind at will. They have been known to create a business and let to thrive for a hundred years before getting bored and one day abandoning the entire enterprise. They tend to enjoy shiny objects of sorts over most other forms of art, though gold has become such a common gift that many have grown some disdain for it as any form of gift or bartering decide.

Relationship with Other Species
Dragons tend not to care much for other species. They consider many too short lived to bother with, though a few are happy enough to take advantage of what other species have to offer.
