Ghosts

Ghosts are the remains of the dead, the souls that remain behind after death. More often than not the souls that become ghosts die sudden, often violent deaths. Most ghosts act similar to the way they were in life.

Ghosts are invisible to most people, though people who use ectomancy or other similar magic traditions can see and sometimes even control ghosts to an extent. A well trained aura reader can feel a ghost's presence when they are in a room. When they are seen they appear as they would appear in life and can even make their clothing and appearance change if they concentrate. A ghost is very easy to mistake for a living person to the untrained ectomancer.

A ghost has quite a few abilities that can be seen as both a boon and a bane. They can travel through most objects when they want to, though they can also interact with the world around them to a small extent. A single ghost can pick up objects and throw them, but only objects lighter than 50 pounds, though multiple ghosts can work together to lift something larger. All ghosts can also make themselves appear where ever their loved ones/whatever it is that keeps them from moving on though can also disappear to the ghost plane, a reality closer to our own than the afterlife. When a ghost is on the ghost plane, they can not be sensed by aura readers though a trained ectomancer can retrieve them from this location.

Ghosts have never seen the afterlife, so they can not confirm if there is one or not or which afterlife is the truth. Any ghost who does cross over can not return.
