Electric City (HIGHLY WIP)

On Electric City, it's always a dark and stormy night. Except when it's not night. And on the rare occasion when it's not stormy. But the sentiment remains most of the time. This island wide city is well known for its use and attempts to perfect the use of electricity, mostly generated from the storms around it.

Ecology
Climate
The island was once a dry plain, until what little grass and trees grew there was leveled in favor of the factories. Now it is a forest of lightning rods and iron buildings stretching up to reach the tops of the skies. It is stormy most of the year, a vortex of clouds hovering over the island. What few untamed corners remain tend to be where landslides and floods are most common.

It's worth nothing that plants on this island have taken to using electricity as a form of nourishment and protection. They have a habit of growing long, straight and spiny.

Some of the creatures found on the island would be the raiju, a quick, sugar glider like creature that takes up residence in the leaves of plants. It's main defense against predictors would be it's speed and the small shock it gives off when it jumps from one plant to another. Another curious creature would be the lopine, a large, carnivorous lightning resistant bird that generates a large cracking sound with it's wings to startle prey out of hiding.

Magic
Magic tends to be a very common occurrence among most of the native Phians. In fact, over 70% of the native population is proficient in basic elemental magic, not surprisingly a majority of this comes in the form of a water elemental base closely followed by a lightning elemental base. Most magic users are seen as common servants, and their talents are largely used for basic wire repair and drying off coats in the fancier buildings in town.

Electric City is a great powerhouse for technology, especially the kind that rely on electricity as one would expect.

As strange as it is, the entire island is a participatory true democracy. State managers are elected by telegram and local mail by people who's earned their citizenship. Citizenship can only be earned by serving a mandatory
