The Rules
1. Spell check, read over your posts, capitalize the first letter in sentences, use periods at the end of sentences, etc. While typos happen, put at least some care into your posts.
2. You may only control your own character's actions, personal belongings, history, etc. Leave other player characters' actions, personal belongings, history, etc. to the players they belong to, unless the player explicitly gives you permission to do something with them. You can talk about it in the out-of-character thread if there's something you want to do.
3. Player actions and character actions are two different things. Do not take character actions out on the player or player actions out on the character. Also remember that IC relationships are not OOC relationships. Two characters dating doesn't mean their players are dating.
4. Post in the correct thread with the correct format.
5. Keep to the setting. Any technology available up to the year 1920 (or that can be created with materials easily available at that time) is allowed, the only exception being hand-held machine guns. Completely fictional technologies are allowed as well.
6. Be patient in waiting for others to post. If you're going to be away for a while due to real life reasons, please leave a note to the other people you're playing with so they know. If you're not posting with in a week of your tag, the thread will move on without you.
7. Respect your mods and fellow players outside the game and talk to them often.
8. Keep it balanced. Playing a sentient, 20 ft. tall, walking death machine may look like a fun idea to you, but such a thing would really over-power the game. Everything has some sort of weakness.
9. We ask that you avoid posting anything involving sexual intercourse and fade to black if it comes up in character. PMs are are fine, posting in an open, visual thread is not fine.
10. While we allow people to change their profiles at any time, we trust that you won't abuse this freedom. If you do abuse it to make a super character once they're accepted, you're going to risk getting banned.
11. Familiarize yourself with the board before posting. It's a general rule of thumb, but here it's a very good idea to read at least the basic world setting information. You don't need more than that to join, but it is worth knowing the basic rules and premise before putting down a character.
12. If you lose interest in the RP, please notify an admin. They won't bite, they won't question you on why you're leaving, we just want to know what to do with any content created and would like to be able to move around someone not posting. If we don't get a note and a player just disappears, we just assume that any content created by another user can be used and altered as it's needed for the story.
13. Respect new rules and follow them as they are updated. If a change is made that you don't like, please bring it up with an admin.
