Aura binding is a magical practice, which is considered “dark” and is illegal in a lot of places. It involves magically binding a person’s aura to some other object or person in order to exert some kind of control over that person. Aura binding will often involve rituals and the most powerful binding could include rituals that are both long and intense, spanning over weeks or months.

Aura binding is usually associated with witchcraft and sorcery, but it can also be done with pure wizardry, just not to such a significant effect. The practice is known for the spilling of blood and intimate intercourse, but these are not always a part of the spell bindings.

There are two kinds of aura binding, the first and most common is binding a subject’s aura to an inanimate object, the second is binding a subject’s aura to another person. Animals can also be used as well.


The actual binding of auras is something that can happensnaturally over time. When someone has an object, or a person, which they keep close for a very long time and inwhich they invest a lot of care and sentiment value, they are, in fact, building a magical connection between themselves and the object or person. The magical practice of aura binding is in controlling and manipulating the process, in order to gain power.

To make a spell the practitioner wills either need to obtain and object witch is already magically connected to their target, or the will need to create a connection. While the latter option is more difficult and time consuming, it gives the best results in the long run, because the nature of the object and the means of binding will have a big effect on the kind of spells it can be used in. For most percise spells, there will have to be some kind of ritual where a connection and made, to a carefully planned object or person.

Once a connection is formed, the practitioner can use their power to weave a spell in and through the connection. This can be as simple as a connection which allows the practitioner to know weather or not the target in close by or far off, or a spell which allows the practitioner to break into the targets mind and control thier will, or even a sell to kill them, simply by smashing the object they are connected to.The more power and precise the spell is, the more complicated the binding and specific the object needs to be.

Because this is such a complex and difficult practice, it isn’t as well known and common as some other practices. It can takes years to develop rituals and spells, which will give the practitioner their desired results and while one method will work for one practitioner it may not work as well for another practitioner because of a different nature in their magic. Those who wish to become a master at this often have to start by gathering several written records of other practitioners and experimenting with several methods, until they find what works best for them and then developing onward from there. For this reason, those who oppose this practice often try to seek out spell books and destroy them.

While small connections and bindings can be done with a simple lock of hair or blood sample and littler to no interaction with the target, significant aura binding can be a very brutal and dominating practice, not only because it can take away a target’s freewill, but also because the rituals around the creation of a strong binding will usual require very high and extreme emotions.
