Aura Reading

Aura reading is a magical practice, in which the practitioner uses magic to make themselves highly sensitive the auras around them. While there have been some recorded cases of people being born with a natural sensitivity to auras, it takes most practitioners many years of study and practice to learn how to detect and recognize auras with any amount of practical detail and assurance.

The processes of aura reading often involve a good deal of concentration and deep or difficult readings may take up to an hour’s worth of meditation. Physical contact, especially with the subject’s head or hands helps a good deal. The tradition of palm reading is probably a gypsy form of aura reading. It is also true that it is easier to read an aura from a subject freshly spilled blood and taking a small blood sample is often the most practical way to spend a good deal of time studying and categorizing a person’s aura.

An aura reader can use their ability to recognize people and discover any magical abilities they might have. Everyone has a unique aura so and aura reader can use auras like a faces or thumbprints to identify someone. Auras can also tell the reader a great deal about a person’s magical strengths, weakness and key aspects behind a personality and even important people and events from their past. The last two are controversial and it’s not certain weather or not aura has any true connection to personalities or life events.

The historical purpose of aura reading has been to provide vital information for other kinds of magic, many of which are considered immoral. This includes Aura Binding, also called Voo Doo, and many forms of potions and charms, which incur upon the subject's free will. Very accurate aura reading is also necessary for the making of a soul-death poison. Intimately knowing a persons aura can potentially give the reader access to many kinds of power over the subject.

Because aura reading is a doorway practice to so many “dark arts” is has been historically disapproved of and still carries a lot of negative stigma. It is closely akin to mind reading, which is illegal in many countries. In some traditions, aura reading is called soul gazing and is a highly mystical and spiritual practice; witch should only be done between intimate friends. Reading the aura of a stranger without permission is considered both rude and invasive.

Aura reading has become an accepted practice in Shelby University only a few decades ago and a lot of research and application is only now being developed and taught. The historically attributed dark powers aura reading can lead to, are not scientifically proven or practiced in Shelby, at least not to public knowledge.

Supporters of the practice believe Aura reading is the truest form of magical understanding and a basic root to a lot of potential power and discovery. Not only to powers which have historically been labeled as evil, but to many good and beneficial uses as well.
